You guessed it, back at the Winking Prawn and Your dressing up again, why not xxx

Hurricane Frank!!!

New Years Eve in Salcombe and we've walked along the bridal pass into North Sands through all the mud and you loves it. Heavy rain last night from Hurricane Frank left lots of mud and puddles which you likes walking through, you walked at the front shouting 'I'm the leader' impersonating the dog out The Aristocrats???? I think!
We're now in the Winking Prawn, your favourite cafe having a cappuccino and cookie before playing on the beach. X

Very wet day in Salcombe

We all went out for a walk into town this morning. It was raining when we left but not too bad. We ended up in Captain Morgans as you wanted a sausage and egg sandwich. By the time we left it was raining very heavy and as we were soaked through anyway we decided to run through all the puddles, which you thoroughly loved.
Anyway, when we finally did get back to the car we took this picture to show how wet we were, you loved it, as you usually do with anything to do with water. Xxxxx

London Weekend

We went to London for the weekend to see the Winter Wonderland and visit Harrods so you see all the toys. We had a great weekend, you love visiting places and when in London you particularly like traveling on the tube!!! We visited Liberties, went down Oxford Street to see the lights, plus lots more. And finally travelled back on the train, which you also like. Xxx

Birthday flag at Overbury

Again this is in the wrong order but I thought I would do this as your mom did this at the very same school when she was a little girl.
On each child's birthday you get to raise the flag and all the children clap and sing happy birthday. As your birthday is in the summer holiday they did this the first week back at school.

Izzy starts St Edwards

A little late posting this but you stated a new school after being at Overbury for just 6 weeks. Your mom and I went to an open day and fell in love with the school, facilities, people and it was perfect for you.
I'm writing this nowat Christmas so you have finishes for the holiday. You've learnt so much, doing really well and already received a couple of awards and was great in the nativity play as an angel. Love you gorgeous xxx

Skiing Lesson

Well Kay finally got round to arranging Izzy's first ski lesson, she had great fun and was very good, next lesson on Tuesday...

Izzy leaving Nursery

Today was you end of nursery picnic at Overbury. Weather was bad but we still went for a ride in the tractor with all your friends and mom, dad and Nanna.
You then had a present of sweets, bubbles and a card.

My First Day at 'Big Girl School!'

So, today was my first day at 'big girl school'!' I've had a really nice holiday week with mummy and daddy, we've been down in Salcombe playing on the beach, my first 'proper' hair cut on Friday (they washed my hair in the salon sinks with the shower and everything, a teddy bear's picnic at school, my friend Jorja's birthday party on Saturday and last minute school shoe shopping yesterday (silly mummy and daddy for leaving it so late!!). And, we went to my favourite restaurant for lunch and had yummy sushi!

Today was the day, mummy and daddy woke me up very early and made me a great big bowl of porridge for breakfast. They wouldn't let me get changed until I had finished breakfast so that I didn't spill any food down my nice new outfit! I wanted to put my new school uniform on 'all by my own' to show mummy and daddy what a big girl I am.

Izzy xx

Izzy was very excited to start school today, mummy and daddy were more than a tad disorganised (cue: frantically signing all of the forms that should've been handed in back in July at 6:30 this morning!). Izzy's hair looked lovely after her visit to the hairdressers on Friday, we had to tidy up the fringe a little but she looked munchy!

Mummy and daddy took her along to school for 8:30 as they get to play in the playground for 15 minutes before taking the register and then going in to class to get ready for their morning assembly (Ray and I took notes on Friday so we new what the protocol was!!). Izzy's little friend Amy was there, as was Piers, Ruby, Susie and Josie - all looking very sweet in their uniforms. Izzy was chuckling when the male teacher came out (he's a scruffy git with long hair that he wears tied up (he's supposed to be a fab teacher)), Izzy has named him 'Mr Ponytail' which she finds highly amusing!

After playing for 15 minutes Mrs Fritchley had taken the register and off we went inside! We realised quite early on that we were bad parents as we had neglected to buy her a book bag and didn't have the right coloured PE bag (I'm hoping the realisation that we're so disorganised won't be too traumatic for her! lol). Once you go in all the children put their coats and bags onto their respective peg (Izzy new exactly where hers was) and then go into their classroom and tell the teaching assistant what they would like to order for their lunch (today was pizza with sweet potato and peas), then, as soon as the 'tidying-up music' starts playing the parents leave and the children go off to assembly. On top of the book bag and PE bag incident, we had also forgotten to bring her a drinks bottle... we pop back home to collect and return to school!! - I think the adjustment is probably bigger for mummy and daddy than it is for Izzy!

Aunty Mary

While your mom, I and Dunk went down to Salcombe to finish the house you stayed with Nanny and Grandad in Birmingham. This is you with my Aunty Mary, she is Nannas sister and a wonderful lady. When I was growing up we spent lots of time at Aunty Mary's with Patrick, David and Alex. We always had lots of fun, very, very happy times when I was little.
Here you are with my Aunty Mary xxxx

Espania

We went to Spain with big 'bro' and 'sis' for a week and had a great time visiting GrandadFreddie and Vicky. It was relaxing and fun, we all had a great time. Here are a few pictures xxx

'Donken's Birthday'

It was Dunk's birthday on Friday, or 'Donk' if you're Izzy!

Izzy's been excited at the prospect of both her big brother visiting but also a justification for making a cake!! - she likes to lick the bowl and be in charge of 'decoration' (read: make a mess).

We duly donned our aprons on Friday (daddy included) and set about baking. As it turns out your nana Sheena had mixed up the labelling system on her flour - with disastourous consequences!! Going by the 10mm depth of the cakes, I'm wagering that the 'self raising flour' was in fact plain flour! - I'm sure they'll taste fine!!!

To celebrate Dunk's birthday we went out for dinner in Cheltenham to a fab grill restaurant called Grid Iron. The food was great (you have never seen such an enormous gourmet burger!), Izzy opted for the meatballs and woofed it down before insisting that she got down from the table to have a dance!

Izzy had noticed a mop fair in Montpellier Gardens on our way in and we had promised her that we'd pop in on our way back. - having eaten far too much I was less than keen to hop onto any of the rides but I drew the short straw and Izzy had her heart set on the tea cups! - to make matters worse she was giggling with delight (I was trying to keep the contents of my stomach down) and in response the lady running the ride kept on spinning us faster and faster!!

Today we're off to the Royal International Air Tattoo; Izzy's got her sound cancelling headphones with her which look very comical. - we'll update again in due course.

xx
